Founded in 1955, our purpose throughout our history has been and will be to provide an alternative Baptist community, using the historic Baptist principles of separation of church and state, church autonomy, freedom of the individual to connect with God in their own way, and freedom of Biblical interpretation, yet not defined by any dogma or fundamentalism. We are ecumenical in our welcome, but unapologetic in our Baptist polity.
We have just completed a journey of finding the vision God has for us, of reaffirming our enduring core values, and writing our future story, set 10 years from now. You can find all of these by exploring our website at: http://www.centralbc.org/
We Are Here For You…
As you explore, I hope you find a community of faith seeking to engage 21st century people with the ancient truths found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Come visit us on a Sunday morning or Wednesday night, or feel free to contact us by email or phone, if you have a question. We are here for you.
Our eternal mission is one that is shared by all churches, found in the Great Commission of Jesus from the 28th chapter of Matthew: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
About our Life Together:
We believe that all of us, whether we participate in church or not, are on a journey of faith toward a deep, significant understanding of God.
We believe that church should be a safe place to hear the challenging, but good news of Jesus Christ and His call to be His followers.
We believe that the church, while flawed, is the instrument that God uses to do the work of the Kingdom.
